Summer is in full swing, and that means high time for wineries. If you’re looking for a getaway where you can find beautiful scenery and flavorful wine, plan a few wine tours in Northern Michigan. Regardless of where you may fall on the wine connoisseur spectrum, the following wineries are worth checking out this season.

2 Lads Winery

2 Lads Winery takes a modern twist on the traditional setting of wine making. The 23 acres of vineyards paired with the stunning views of East Grand Traverse Bay invite a soothing and personal environment. Concrete, steel and glass windows fill the tasting room, showcasing a unique and contemporary vibe at the winery. Bowers Harbor Vineyards

Bowers Harbor, established in 1991, produces some of the most beautiful wine from its 20-acre vinifera vines. With over 25 different wines and hard ciders, Bowers Harbor invites visitors to try their special Bordeaux-style 2896 Langley. The Grapes to Glass Vineyard Tour will take visitors through the process of wine making and end with a flight tasting. Brys Estate Vineyard & Winery

Brys Estate Vineyard & Winery is a culmination of hard work and tradition. Upon entry into the 91-acre estate, visitors are greeted by a renovated 1890s farmhouse. Brys Estate wines have been awarded over 400 medals from both national and international competitions. The estate also includes The Secret Garden, a beautiful 12-acre site where visitors can enjoy picnics and stroll through lavender flowers. During the tour, visitors will explore five sites throughout the estate, with wine offered at each stop. The tour includes a light picnic in the Secret Garden. Chateau Grand Traverse

Chateau Grand Traverse, established in 1974, was the first winery to plant European grape varietals in Northern Michigan.
