As a wine lover’s paradise, Chateau Chantal in Traverse City offers everything from wine tastings and dinners, to events and live music. The 65-acre estate was built in 1993 as a winery and B&B and has since undertaken a 15,000-square-foot renovation. Whether you have a couple hours or a few days to spend, we’ve listed our favorite things to do at Chateau Chantal to help you plan your next trip.
Wine by The Glass
If you have only a few hours, enjoy the day by grabbing a glass of wine outside on the west patio and east terrace. Pair a crisp rosé or white wine with the charcuterie board featuring sharp white cheddar, havarti dill, chorizo, andouille sausage, capicola and strawberry riesling jam.
For those wanting to experience several of Chateau’s wines, the winery offers a few different options for wine tastings. Choose between a guided cellar tour for large or smaller parties, a seated tasting, Jazz at Sunset or an exclusive guided VIP tour through the entire estate.
Bed & Breakfast
After a day of sipping delicious local wines, book your stay at Chateau’s bed and breakfast featuring 11 unique rooms. You can also treat yourself and a loved one by adding the celebration package, a $50 upgrade that includes a chilled bottle of Celebrate!, a semi-dry bubbly rosé, an arrangement of fresh flowers and eight decadent chocolates awaiting your check-in.
There is no such thing as too much good wine — end your evening by reserving your seat at Chateau’s seven-course wine dinner, each course beautifully paired with a different Chateau Chantal wine. The dinner begins with a Champagne toast and a tour of the cellar, and guests receive exclusive discounts on wine purchases.
BMW Courtesy Vehicle program
If you are staying for the weekend, take advantage of Chateau’s BMW Courtesy Vehicle program. Centrally located in the Old Mission Peninsula, there are several golf courses, shopping, art galleries, fine dining and seasonal activities offered nearby. Chateau Chantal partners with BMW to offer guests a luxury ride to explore the Peninsula and Greater Traverse City area.
The package includes unlimited use of a BMW during your stay, an assortment of discounts, in-room amenities, and a complimentary tasting at Chateau’s sister winery, Hawthorne Vineyards.
Depending on availability, you have the option between a 2019 BMW 7 Series sedan or the 2019 X3 SUV.
