17th Annual Oktoberfest in historic downtown Saline – 9/17 & 9/18

Head to historic downtown Saline (just outside of Ann Arbor) to celebrate all things Oktoberfest! A great lineup of German and domestic beers will be served all weekend long, alongside food vendors and restaurants and live music. Check out the website for the full roster of events and activities starting Friday evening.

Friday: 5 – 11 pm

  • 6:30 pm – Opening ceremony and tapping of the golden keg
  • 8:00 pm – 11:00 pm – Live music with Atomic Radio

Saturday: 10 am – 11 pm

  • 10:00 am – 5:00 pm – live music and free kids activities
  • 5:00 pm – 11:00 pm – starting at 5 pm, there is a $5 admission fee.

Parktoberfest at Campus Martius: 9/18 & 9/19

Campus Martius Park will transform this weekend into an open-air Biergarten pavilion with a great selection of craft seasonal beers, fall food favorites, live music, photo displays, and dance demonstrations.

Birmingham Street Art Fair: 9/18 & 9/19

Put on by the Guild of Artists and Artisans, the Common Ground Birmingham Street Art Fair will feature 100 jury-selected artists along S. Old Woodward ave. In addition to artist booths, music, food and a kids art area, there will be a silent auction tent with artwork for festival goers to bid on. Proceeds will directly benefit the non-profit Common Ground. Check out the website for the full schedule and entertainment lineup.

Barns & Brews at Van Hoosen Farm: 9/18

This weekend’s Barns & Brews event at Van Hoosen Farm is literally the perfect fall weekend outing! Enjoy local music, beer, wine, and food, while exploring the newly renovated barns, the Children’s Garden and other exhibits at the Rochester Hills Museum. If you aren’t already familiar with Van Hoosen Farm, it dates back to 1823 and is a nationally registered historic site. Tickets run from $10 – $35 and includes admission to the event, museum and 1 adult beverage of your choice.  Read more about the event and get your tickets here.

*In the case of rain entertainment and beverages will be moved inside. Food trucks will be moved closer to buildings, and tents will be put up for lines.

Womxnhouse Detroit Exhibition: Opens 9/18

Celebrate women and art at the opening of Womxanhouse Detroit it’s opening weekend, which coincides with the 50th anniversary of the original contemporary feminist art exhibition, Womanhouse, led by Judy Chicago and Miriam Schapiro.  Co-Curators Asia Hamilton and Laura Earle will present a new whole-house exhibition which reflects the diversity, cultural richness and grit of the city, and features 15 artists from all backgrounds. 

You must register to attend at a specific date/time. From there ticket prices are donation based depending on what you can afford.
