12/2 – 1/2 GLENLORE TRAILS AURORA – COMMERCE TOWNSHIP

This season visit Michigan’s original illuminated forest for an extraordinary walk through the woods! This one mile outdoor path has been lit up with thousands of lights, interactive elements and entertainment fun for all ages. Open Thursday through Sunday each week through January 2. 12/2 – 1/9 STARRY NIGHTS AT FORD HOUSE – EDSEL & ELEANOR FORD HOUSE, GROSSE POINTE SHORES

Things to do in Metro Detroit this December

Experience a wintry starry-sky themed show of light and sound among the grounds of the historic Edsel and Eleanor Ford House. Projected animations, interactive features and vintage home videos of the Ford family are produced by Bluewater Technologies Group and make for an illuminating experience! Meadow Brook Hall’s annual Holiday Walk lets visitors take a self-guided tour of the holiday sights and decorations bedecking the historic, 110-room estate. Expect to see more than 50 awe-inspiring trees, including a 10-foot-tall Poinsettia tree created by 150 live plants. 12/28 TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA – LITTLE CAESARS ARENA

In 1996, progressive rock group Trans-Siberian Orchestra released Christmas Eve and Other Stories, their debut album — and the one that launched the band to fame. Now, the multi-platinum act is celebrating the album’s 25th anniversary with two shows in Detroit. In keeping with the holiday spirit, the band will donate at least $1 from every ticket sold to charity. 313presents.com
