Detroit Harvestfest and Food Truck Rally – Saturday, Oct 9 + Sunday, Oct 10

More than 60 food trucks will gather this weekend at the Dequindre Cut for Detroit Riverfront Conservancy’s Harvestfest! Not only will you be able to sample the incredible grub from food trucks like Cosmic Burrito, Crepe Day Twah, Maui Mikes, Wings & Things, and more, but there will be family friendly trick-or-treating, bounce houses and free pumpkins. Plus you’ll enjoy performances across 6 different stages with local musicians and entertainment all weekend. long. Dequindre Cut Greenway, Detroit
ViewFest 2021 – Saturday, Oct 9
11:00 am – 7:30 pm
This FREE community event and festival is focused on promoting positive mental health, stemming from the Viewspire initiative and Hug Buddy program launched during the pandemic. In addition to engaging speaker sessions, there will be activities for children, teens and young adults including arts & crafts, obstacle courses and sports, treasure hunt, animals, food trucks and so much more.
The festival will also be highlighted by breaking a world record using Viewspire’s Hug Buddy postcards and hosting an interactive tribute center for those in our community who have been lost to suicide. For the schedule and full event details, head to the Viewspire website linked below.

Maybury Farm Great Fall Festival – Saturday, Oct 9 + Sunday, Oct 10
Festival from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
Cornmaze from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm
This two-day fall family fun festival includes animals, corn maze, live music, games, bonfires, and so much more. Concessions and food inclues Parmenter’s cider & donuts, kettle corn, PizzaPazza Wood Fired Pizza, Bearclaw Coffee, Kona Ice and a BBQ! Saturday, the Bridge County Bluegrass Band will hit the stage at noon, followed by the Ind Possum Country Folk Band on Sunday.
Tickets are $9 per person (kids 2 and under are free) for the Farm & Animals, and $12 per person to also get a wagon ride through the farm.

Lathrup Village Bikes & BBQ – Saturday, Oct 9
11:00 am – 1:00 pm
Calling all bikers and BBQ lovers! The Lathrup Village DDA invites the community bring their bike to the Municipal Park and take a tour of the new Lathrup Village Bike Path while enjoying the beautiful historic homes in the neighborhood. After the tour Beans & Cornbread will provide lunch for just $5! The ticket includes Jerk Chicken Breast, Veggie Sloppy Joe, or BBQ Rip Tips plus a side and a drink. (*Bikers are also welcome to bring their own lunch and enjoy the event for FREE)

New Art Exhibit at the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center – Friday, Oct 8 + Saturday, Oct 9

For all of you art lovers, this is a great weekend to head to the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center to see their newest exhibit. This exhibit is open through November 4, and features the work of Glenna Adkins (Modernist painter), Leah Waldo (Sculptor), Mary Wilson (Culinarian and Painter) and the students of Fran Seikaly (oil, pastels, watercolor and drawing) and a special feature by HAVEN.
