Plymouth Guide: Where to Eat, Shop and Drink

Barrio Cocina Y Tequileria

555 Forest Ave., Plymouth

It doesn’t have to be Tuesday to get down on street style tacos at Barrio Cocina Y Tequileria. The restaurant features a variety of Mexican dishes such as fan favorites: mahi mahi tacos, chicken flautas and enchiladas verdes. The craft cocktails are made with fresh fruit juices, and they carry a full selection of Mexican and Michigan craft beer. Pro tip: Order the Pepino!

Nico & Vali

744 Wing St., Plymouth

Nico & Vali is built on the Italian tradition of welcoming each customer as if they were a member of the family. Expect to enjoy dishes that have been influenced by recipes that have been passed down through generations. This cozy restaurant offers food and service that will make you feel at home (with your Italian relatives that is).

Compari’s on the Park

Nestled between its sister restaurants The Sardine Room and Fiamma Grille, Compari’s on the Park serves traditional Italian pastas and entrees. With the slogan “Food. Fun. Friends,” Compari’s is a Main Street necessity for a family or friendly meal. There are plenty of food and wine specials throughout the week. Make sure to try the pizza and risotto balls!

The Sardine Room

340 S Main St., Plymouth

Big city sophistication meets speakeasy style vibes at The Sardine Room. The menu is designed so guests can shape their dining experience through a curation of snacks, small plates, large plates or raw bar items. I highly recommend visiting the bar during happy hour Monday through Sunday 4-6 p.m. for $1 oysters, $4 cocktails, $5 cheese plates and more!

Fiamma Grille

380 S. Main St., Plymouth

For a fancy dinner, whether it be date, family or for business, Fiamma is the go-to spot. Located on Main Street in the heart of downtown Plymouth, Fiamma Grille is an upscale eatery serving up small plates and American fare. Stop in for a glass of wine, delicious steak or one of Fiamma’s happy hour specials.

You won’t find authentic Neapolitan pizzas anywhere like the ones at Pizza e Vino. With the wood burning oven located directly in the middle of the restaurant, guests will feel like they are part of the Naples atmosphere. They also have a phenomenal wine selection to boot with wine slushies available in the summertime!

Burgers, shakes and fries, “Oh my!” Since its establishment in 2004 The Burger Spot has been the place for top-notch burgers, hot dogs and tater tots. It even offers a variety of vegetarian and vegan options so tofu and meat lovers alike can indulge in the goodness. I highly recommend the falafel burger!

It offers a limited list of food items, but has partnered with several local restaurants that will deliver right to you!

This dimly lit dive bar is a downtown Plymouth staple. The Penn is a great place to sit outside, have a cold beer, order some appetizers and hang out with friends during the warm weather months. Don’t forget to stop by for Karaoke Night on Tuesday!

This is one of the best places in Plymouth to gather with friends. The game room is the perfect place to unwind over a game of pool or darts while playing your favorite tunes on the jukebox. Hermann’s has a wide selection of beers and a great food menu too!

Such a popular and treasured part of Plymouth that it recently opened a second location, Stella’s is a great place for both a beer and a family meal. Stella’s Black Dog Tavern features local food, including yummy burgers. Stella the Bernese Mountain Dog is also the cutest mascot you ever did see!
