Rolling hills, meadows full of wildflowers, a babbling brook — this is a typical scene in the Cotswold region of the English countryside. It can also be found in nearby Clarkston, which is where we filmed episode of 5 of Home SEEN. Our host Cassie Kunze, along with DOBI agents Lindsay Lawrie and Ross Rossan III, walk us through this magical home that inspires creativity, coziness and charm.

Cotswold-Style Architecture

Sometimes referred to as “storybook style,” Cotswold-style architecture is based on the houses common to the region in southern central England. The Cotswold region is primarily rural and known for it’s stone-built villages, historical towns, and stately homes and gardens. Homes are made of brick, stone or stucco, feature arched doorways and have pseudo-thatched style roofs.

A Charmed Life

The home sits on a gorgeous 2-acre lot full of mature trees, wildflowers and a stream running through the back. Originally built in 2002, the current owner renovated the interior after purchasing it in 2012.

The homeowner brightened up the entire home with lighter walls, allowing the texture and color from the various stones, wood floors and reclaimed beams to take center stage. Natural light pours in through large windows throughout the home, giving it an open and airy feel.
