Pair these colorful cocktails with your favorite summertime dishes for the perfect July 4 celebration

Independence Day is almost here, so bring on the fireworks, day parties, boat trips, and, of course, the BBQ! There’s nothing better than grabbing something tasty from the grill and enjoying a cocktail (or three) with friends and family. Planning a July 4 party of your own? Try out these red, white and blue cocktail and food pairings for a delicious celebration!
Watermelon Basil Cocktail
- 2 oz gin
- 1 oz fresh lime juice
- ½ oz simple syrup
- 2 watermelon chunks
- 2 basil sprigs
- 1 watermelon chunk
- pinch of salt
In shaker, muddle watermelon chunks. Add ice, along with gin, fresh lime juice, and simple syrup. Shake and pour into glass over ice. Garnish with watermelon chunk, basil sprigs, and salt.
Pairs well with salads, skewers, and side dishes.
Star Spangled Spritz
- 1 oz vodka
- 2 oz white cranberry juice
- ½ oz simple syrup
- ½ oz fresh lime juice
- splash of club soda
In shaker, add ice, along with vodka, white cranberry juice, simple syrup, and lime juice. Shake and pour over ice. Garnish with cranberries and blueberries.
Pairs well with desserts like cakes, pies and ice cream.
- 1.5 oz tequila
- 2 oz lemonade
- 1 oz Blue Curaco
- kosher salt for glass rimming
Rim glass with kosher salt. In shaker, add ice, along with tequila, lemonade, and Blue Curacao. Shake and pour into margarita glass over ice.
Pairs well with hotdogs, burgers, and ribs.
