Two James Cocktail Dinner At Pop’s For Italian

Pop’s for Italian and Two James Spirits are partnering on Wednesday, May 11 for a special five-course cocktail dinner. This tasting event will feature five unique courses paired with five drink creations featuring spirits from Two James and designed to enhance the tasting notes of each delicious dish.
Guest chef Sean Marshall, aka GastroGoon, known for blending French training and Asian ingredients, will prepare five unique dishes. Mixologist Mike Day, aka SovereignDetroit, will pair each course with unique Two James-inspired cocktails.
Tickets to this special event are $100 per person.
• Saigon Cigar: Fresh spring roll filled with baby greens, chilled poached scallop, shaved black truffle, charred eggplant, pickled green strawberries, chili crisp, peanut foam. Paired with the “Witch Doctor,” a creamy, nitrous-poured version of the Jungle Bird, utilizing Two James Doctor Bird Rum.
•• Takashi-san: King crab, seasoned daikon, wasabi, okra, katsuobushi, sweet soy sauce. Paired with the Necromancer, featuring Corpse Reviver #2, ,made to showcase Two James gin and atomized with Nain Rouge Absinthe.
••• Bloomin’ Onion: Slow-cooked onion in bone marrow, smoked oyster mayonnaise, lobster dashi broth, parmesan breadcrumb, granny smith apple, Italian black truffle. Paired with the Calypso,, a Trinidad Sour with bitters, walnut orgeat and Two James Rye.
•••• Peking Canard: Crispy leg of duck confit with Chinese spices, pan-fried hakka noodle with scallion, black vinegar pearls, Korean pear, blue cheese mousse. Paired with Las Tres Marias, a sazerac made with Two James Rye, Peated Whiskey and Nain Rouge.
••••• Breakfast in Bed: Duckfat French toast, foie gras espuma, sichuan peppercorn infused maple syrup, pickled elderberries, crispy chili noodles. Paired with Bolivian Nitro, a nitrogen-charged espresso martini made with espresso liquor, Two James vodka and turbinado sugar.
