Summer Exhibitions at Cranbrook Art Museum
Cranbrook Art Museum 39221 Woodward Ave, Bloomfield Hills, MIIn June, Cranbrook Art Museum will open three exciting new summer exhibitions, including the debut of the first film by Flint-based musician Tunde Olaniran; an exhibition of works from the acclaimed Mott-Warsh Collection of contemporary art; and the first solo museum exhibition by artist Tyrrell Winston. “This suite of summer exhibitions supports our mission of shining a light on the outsized talent of Michigan-based artists and organizations who are placing Detroit and Flint center stage. With Tunde’s project, we find ourselves working in new ways to build a new kind of artistic experience; with Tyrrell’s residency we understand the inventiveness and importance of place; and with Mott-Warsh we see it all through a global lens,” said Andrew Blauvelt, Director of Cranbrook Art Museum. “All of this work underscores the importance that culture plays in enhancing our communities through artistic practice.” All exhibitions will be open to the public on June 18.
