Human Trafficking Movie at the Maple Theater

In partnership with the Detroit Crime Commission, the Junior League of Birmingham, MI is hosting a screening of the documentary ‘Break the Chain.’

Produced and directed by Michigan documentary filmmakers, Laura E. Swanson and Kirk Mason, ‘Break the Chain’ is an award-winning feature-length documentary film that addresses the often “hidden-in-plain-sight” issue of human trafficking within the Michigan communities and the United States.

Both Vista Maria and the Detroit Crime Commission will be available before and after the film to answer questions. Additionally, Laura Swanson, the co-director and producer, will be in attendance for the event and will take questions at the end.

Time: 7:00-9:00 (film to run from 7:30-8:30 with Q&A after)
