Artists statement :
I am an artist that works under the umbrella of fiber art while incorporating the disciplines of drawing, painting, weaving, sculpture, and installation. The curiosity and imagination that drives my work is not too concerned about sticking to one medium, but rather about creating a sublime sensation. Thread is usually present in my work in some fashion because it is a three dimensional line and a powerful physical structure.Beauty to me is physical and therefore carries a strong psychological impact. The beauty I take in and the beauty I create is tied closely to the body moving through spaces. As we move around, our senses keen into the architecture of our surroundings. I want to sense beauty deeply and often. As an artist, I participate in the making of sublime and mysterious sensation.
