Schoolcraft College Foundation’s 2018 Culinary Extravaganza

August 31, 2018

Detroit-area restaurants and Schoolcraft College’s award-winning Culinary Arts program are just a few highlights of Schoolcraft College Foundation’s 2018 Culinary Extravaganza.

Sponsored by Schoolcraft College

On Sunday, September 16 from 2 to 4 p.m., community members, professionals and students enjoy an afternoon of the finest culinary delicacies from metro Detroit’s fabulous restaurants, pastry shops and beverage vendors.

Held at the VisTaTech Center on Schoolcraft College’s Livonia campus, guests will enjoy a strolling event and sample great food, wine and craft beers. Tickets are $60 and available at scf.schoolcraft.edu/culinary-extravaganza or calling 734-462-4455. Proceeds benefit Schoolcraft College students by providing scholarships and grants to enhance educational opportunities.

According to Marc Djozlija, chef and partner of Wright and Company and chair of the Culinary Extravaganza committee, last year’s event was among the best in its 27-year history, and he expects this year’s to top it.

“While we think this year’s event will be even better, the most important part is that the money from this event supports the education of young chefs,” Djozlija says. “Detroit area restaurants have some amazing chefs and this event is a great way for them to show off their skills, while supporting a great cause. In my opinion, Schoolcraft College’s Culinary Arts Program is producing some of the finest young chefs in the industry, and that is worthy of my time and support.”

The event also features a silent auction where attendees can bid on a variety of items and packages, including sporting events, getaways, fine dining and gift baskets.  Raffle tickets will also be available to win cash prizes.
