Saturday Night Live Weekend Update host Colin Jost spent his Saturday night hosting an evening of comedy to support antibullying.
The event, organized by the nonprofit Defeat the Label, was held Oct. 27 at the Flagstar Strand Theatre for the Performing Arts in Pontiac during National Bullying Prevention Month. The 6th annual event was part of a weekend of activities to bring anti-bullying awareness to the Metro Detroit community. The 3rd annual Community Conversation on Bullying was held Oct. 26 at Oakland Schools in Waterford.
“Both our ‘Community Conversation’ and ‘Bullying is No Joke’ events will serve as important ways to raise awareness and ultimately prevent bullying in our homes, schools and workplaces,” Birmingham resident Jeff Sakwa, Defeat the Label president, said before the events.
Defeat the Label states its mission is to create “critical awareness about bullying issues” and a “movement against bullying.”
