Internship Opportunities

Events Internship

SEEN Magazine is seeking a 2019 fall intern to help plan SEEN events, including our annual SEEN Changemaker Awards in October, Women SEEN: Making an Impact conference in May and Wine SEEN event in July. We are seeking an intern who will help communicate and coordinate with venues, caterers, entertainment and other vendors. The intern will be on-site to help manage the SEEN Changemaker Awards ceremony on Oct. 23. The internship involves reaching out to potential event sponsors and creating promotional materials for events. This intern will work closely with the SEEN editorial and sales team.

Interns should have experience in event planning. Interns must have their own transportation to meet with potential vendors and get to the SEEN office. Interns must receive college credit. Design Internship

SEEN Magazine is seeking a 2019 fall intern to help with graphic design needs. The intern will design marketing materials and programs for SEEN events, sponsorship packages, graphics for social media and help with special projects. The internship requires working in the SEEN office at least one day a week. This intern will work closely with the SEEN editorial and events team.

Interns should have experience using InDesign, PhotoShop and/or other design programs. Interns must receive college credit. Please send a resume, cover letter and at least five samples of design work to Stephanie Steinberg at ssteinberg@seenmediagroup.com. The internship start and end dates can be flexible.

Reporting Internship

SEEN Magazine is seeking a 2020 winter intern to cover lifestyle news in Metro Detroit. We want interns who are eager to tell stories about the people and places that make Metro Detroit a great region to live, work, visit and have fun. Interns will have an opportunity to write stories focused on fashion, food, arts and entertainment, health, entrepreneurship and events for print and online. Interns also will be expected to pitch story ideas.

Interns must have their own transportation to get to assignments in Metro Detroit. Journalism experience, which may include work on a college newspaper, is required. Photography and video production experience is a plus. Interns must receive college credit. Please send a resume, three to four writing samples and a cover letter with three story ideas to Stephanie Steinberg at ssteinberg@seenmediagroup.com. Deadline to apply is Nov. 15. The internship will begin in January and run through April 2020.

Photography Internship

SEEN Magazine is seeking a 2020 winter intern to photograph lifestyle news in Metro Detroit. Interns will photograph people, businesses and places for SEEN’s print magazine and website. Assignments may include portraits of local entrepreneurs or shop owners, covering charity events for our SEEN Stealers page or grand openings in Metro Detroit.

Interns must have their own transportation to get to assignments in Metro Detroit. Photography experience, which may include work on a college newspaper, is required. Video production and editing experience is a plus. Interns must receive college credit. Please send a resume, 5-7 photography samples and a cover letter to Stephanie Steinberg at ssteinberg@seenmediagroup.com. The internship will begin in January and run through April 2020.

Videography Internship

SEEN Magazine is seeking a 2019 winter intern to produce videos related to lifestyle news in Metro Detroit. Interns will produce videos on people, businesses and events for SEEN’s website.
