You can’t go wrong with a trip to the zoo, especially at sunset! On June 7, the Detroit Zoo will host its annual fundraising gala, “Sunset at the Zoo.” From 7-11 p.m., guests will enjoy tastings from more than 45 of Metro Detroit’s best restaurants, live entertainment, live and silent auctions and can explore the 125-acre zoo at twilight. Take your friends, family and kids out for a movie at Birmingham Movie Night. At 7:30 p.m., the the city of Birmingham will play Disney’s “Zootopia” on a big screen in Booth Park. Admission is free and guests can enjoy complimentary popcorn, ice cream and water as well as potential giveaways. Log out of your Netflix and Hulu accounts and watch a movie outdoors in Birmingham.

Multiplatinum pop group, New Kids on the Block, will be making a stop at Little Caesars Arena on June 18 for The MixTape Tour. See your favorite ‘80s band back on stage, performing to classics like “You Got,” “I’ll be Loving You (Forever)” and “Didn’t I (Blow Your Mind).” Eighties stars Salt-N-Pepa, Tiffany, Debbie Gibson and Naught by Nature will also join the tour. If you are a fan of cooking competition shows, then you’re going to love what Birmingham Farmers Market has in store on June 23. At 10 a.m., local chefs will meet to compete in the “Birmingham Chef Clash.” Guests can watch competitors put their culinary skills to the test as the execute two dishes, one savory and one sweet, using ingredients from the market. Chefs will be judged on interactions with patrons, taste and presentation. If you want to watch a cooking show outside of your television screens, then head over to the Birmingham Chef Clash. Actor, singer, producer and Grammy winner Hugh Jackman is going to pay a visit to Detroit on June 24 for his The Man. The Music. The Show tour, In this concert, Jackman will perform to hit songs from musical productions and films like “The Greatest Showman,” “Les Miserables” and more. Come see the man, the music and the show at Little Caesars Arena at 7 p.m. Tickets start at $49 on Ticketmaster.
