The Classic Gal

The classic gal likes to keep it simple — with basic colors and fitted silhouettes, she can easily streamline the process of getting dressed in the morning. This season she should pay attention to pleated skirts, longer hemlines — the “midi skirts” — and layering. Plaid is also a notable trend for the classic gal! For a great go-to look, wear a basic T-shirt or turtleneck underneath a sleeveless jumper dress or even pair a T-shirt with a long skirt.

Style notes from the runway this season: You can find beautiful modern classic pieces for your wardrobe from Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren, The Row, Theory, Veronica Beard, Calvin Klein, Victoria Beckham and Chanel. Pair your higher-end looks with basics from Gap, Splendid or Three Dots.

The Boho Gal

She leans toward exotic pieces and the hippie vibe. Her favorite details in her clothing include soft, flowy and light fabrics, as well as loose and draped silhouettes. She prefers natural, yet warm colors, tribal prints, western-inspired prints and appreciates some fringe and suede! Vintage-inspired accessories are a must for the boho gal.

Style notes from the runway this season: Many designers incorporated a western motif and bohemian vibes into their collections. Some brands to look into include: Rachel Zoe, Haute Hippie, House of Harlow, Isabel Marant, LoveShackFancy and Loewe.

The Glam Gal

The glam gal likes to make a bold statement with bright colors, dramatic jewelry and accessories. She is not afraid to take fashion risks with the flashy pieces in her wardrobe. She loves the “wow factor,” incorporating metallic materials, silver, gold and lots of glitz when putting together an outfit.

Style notes from the runway this season: You can glam up your wardrobe with prints from many designers. Givenchy, Gucci and Bottega Veneta have all incorporated leopard or funky prints into their collections this season. Other designers for the glam gal include: Alice & Olivia, Balmain, Valentino, Alexander McQueen and Dior.

The Edgy Gal

Inspired by rock music and street style, the edgy gal gravitates toward trends that make a statement without going over the top. She’s known to wear modern silhouettes fitted in leather, denim or both. Staples include: leather jacket, black outfits, navy pieces, camo accents and, of course, leather boots.

Style notes from the runway this season: Designers included leather, metallics, velvet, tassels and embroidery accents. The edgy gal should look into Zadig et Voltaire, Rag & Bone, Isabel Marant, Rick Owens, Off-White, Saint Laurent and All Saints.

The Sporty Gal

The sporty gal prefers casual styling over formal tailoring. No frills when it comes to getting dressed — think simple, sleek shapes and monochromatic colors. Feeling comfortable in her clothes, yet effortlessly cool is important. This gal is all about athleisure wear when possible and chic denim.

Style notes from the runway this season: Designers included lots of stripes and comfortable athleisure mixed with a sleek top. Look into these brands: Alexander Wang, T by Alexander Wang, Marc Jacobs, Jeremy Scott, Stella McCartney, Adidas by Stella McCartney, Madewell, Tory Sport by Tory Burch, T3, Monse and Bailey 44.

The Romantic Gal

She has a wardrobe of everything pretty and polished. The romantic gal tends to put together outfits with lace, ruffles, pleats, bows and soft fabrics. Embellished and adorned details are often incorporated into her wardrobe. Jeweled tones and pastels always work for her. She accessorizes with delicate jewelry — dainty and sweet.

Style notes from the runway this season: Floral is a must for fall, and a romantic girl should incorporate in her wardrobe a variety of color palettes from muted to rich jewel tones in velvet and silk. Think modern-day
Victorian! Brands to look into include: Zimmermann, Cinq a Sept, Erdem, Rebecca Minkoff, Diane von Furstenberg, Rebecca Taylor and Ted Baker London.
