Summer is almost over, and there’s lots to do before school starts! Make the most of the time at home with your kids, and follow along with LittleGuide Detroit to discover events, activities and classes near you.
1. Attend a car event
It’s time for the Woodward Dream Cruise, but that’s not the only auto event in the Motor City. Here’s our guide to touch-a-trucks, car shows and cruises.
2. Catch a movie or a show
Movies in the park are really popular! Check out the summer lineup, and arrive early to New Center Park on Au. 23 to see a one-of-a-kind puppet show, “Zoo Stories,” before an evening showing of “Arctic Tales.”
3. Plan a trip to the museum
Free admission to the Michigan Science Center ends on Aug. 17 and Cranbrook Institute of Science’s Doom of the Dinosaurs Exhibit’s final day is Sept. 1.
4. Make your little’s dream come true
Meet a mermaid at Sea Life Michigan Aquarium or take a ride on Thomas The Train at Crossroads Village and Huckleberry Railroad.
5. Soak up the sun!
Get in the water at a pool or splash pad and get on the water to take a family ride in a kayak or canoe.
