Mother Honestly founder Blessing Adesiyan shares five podcasts every girl boss, entrepreneur and ambitious mom will love.
By Blessing Adesiyan
This is the year of the woman, so it is no surprise that we have been reading books like “Girl Wash Your Face” by Rachel Hollis and listening to podcasts like “Raising The Bar” by Drybar founder Alli Webb.
Here are my top 5 podcasts for women empowerment this year.
Rachel Hollis is my girl fan of the year, and it’s no surprise that her podcast is No. 1 on the list. Rachel gets it! She is an amazing mom, a writer, a conference developer and business owner. “Rise” is a bold conversation that provides the listener with real life tangible takeaways. It’s the perfect balance of loving encouragement and straight-up kicking your butt! Subscribe here.
2. Raising the Bar
Alli Webb is the founder and CEO of Drybar, and lest I forget to mention that Metro Detroit just got its own Drybar here in Birmingham! We are super excited about that. But seriously, Alli is the mama who was home creating space for motherhood and then realized that she needed to do something for herself. She started blow-drying her friends’ hair, and then got her husband and brother Michael (“Raising the Bar” co-host) involved. Picture that for a second. Drybar has over a hundred stores across the country. Alli and Michael share what it takes to risk everything on a great idea, they share the things they’re obsessed with — and they fight like brother and sisters. Yep, we kind of guessed that. Subscribe here.
3. Myleik Teele’s Podcast
Myleik has been podcasting for years before podcasting became popular. Myleik is the founder of curlBOX, a natural hair care product subscription box. She shares her experience as a woman entrepreneur, insights on how to start, grow and launch a business, and how to stay focused in your career. Myleik is also a new mother, and she brings new and fresh insight on motherhood and entrepreneurship. Subscribe here.
Part work, Part party. Meet the “WorkParty” podcast hosted by Jaclyn Johnson, Create & Cultivate CEO and author of “WorkParty.” The weekly podcast deconstructs the business of being a modern working woman and tackles topics such as negotiation, honing your pitch and creating that killer tagline. Subscribe here.
5. Goal Digger
We saved the best for last. Photographer? Creative Entrepreneur? Starting a business online? Market guru Jenna Kutcher drops gems related to social media, entrepreneurship, business and life in a personal way that resonates with many. I listen to every single episode twice because they are just that good. Jenna is helping women redefine success on their own terms because, according to her, work doesn’t have to feel like work.
