Bloomfield Hills Dental Associates is more than a dental practice, it’s a family setting that’s been providing generations of patients an array of services for over 25 years. “We have several patients that we saw as kids and are now treating their kids, which is a pleasure and an honor,” says Dr. A.J. Nafso, who opened the Bloomfield Hills office in 1995.

The team is qualified in a full gamut of skills, including preventative and restorative care, pediatric services, root canals, gum disease care, prosthodontics, oral surgery, dental implants and orthodontic treatment. From braces to dentures, the goal is to offer such a complete selection of services that most patients will rarely have to be referred to another practitioner.

Dental assistant Zina Sitto helps a patient use a cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) scanner at Bloomfield Hills Dental Associates.

To that end, continued education, critical choices in staffing and keeping up with the changes in dental technology are all paramount. “One example of how we utilize the latest technology is our dental cone beam system, which provides three-dimensional imaging almost like a CT scan of the teeth, allowing us to detect nerve and root issues that normal two-dimensional X-rays cannot,” Nafso says.

The practice also taps into technology when it comes to patient communication in an effort to not only be more efficient, but help save the environment. The use of texts, emails and an automated platform facilitate a nearly paperless office.

Dr. Ivan Samano consults a patient while showing a cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) scan. The scan creates a 3D X-ray image of the patient’s head and neck area and provides more detail than a regular 2D X-ray image. Bloomfield Hills Dental Associates uses this technology for implant surgeries and for evaluating sinuses and airways.

But it always comes back to personal focus. Every patient can expect to encounter an organized office, happy staff and a level of thoroughness that is second to none. The patient’s total health and well-being is taken into consideration at every turn. “We look at each patient’s health history, medications, medical issues and overall wellness before we ever even approach their dental health,” Nafso says. “I’ve heard patients say that it sometimes feels more like a health checkup than just a dentist appointment, and I take pride in that.”

Anxious patients can find relief here, too. The staff understands those with anxiety and apprehension and has tricks and tools to beat both. Nerves are also comforted by meticulous explanations provided regarding what to expect for all procedures. Patients are treated by the same team of professionals at every visit, so there is consistency and a personal level of care that comes with truly knowing every person and his or her concerns.

With the help of a willing staff, Bloomfield Hills Dental Associates also offers evening and weekend hours.

The team consists of Dr. A.J. Nafso, Dr. Yvette Tabangay-Nafso, Dr. Ivan Samano, Dr. Dani Kejbou and Dr. Anthony Yaldo.

Call to schedule a consultation with Bloomfield Hills Dental Associates today, and you’ll understand why they’ve been creating smiles for over 25 years.
