Omonye (“Omo”) Phillips, is a wife, mother of two, and at the age of 32 one of the youngest top executives in a Fortune 100 company as a Regional Vice President at Rite Aid Pharmacy. Although these accolades alone may seem enough to deem her a changemaker in business – executive with the 3rd largest retail pharmacy in the country responsible for overseeing the operations of 160+ stores and managing a budget in excess of $1.2B, while being a dedicated and committed wife and mother – she is more in the making. Omo, a woman of many talents, has dedicated countless hours to other business, service, and philanthropy efforts all focused on improving the lives of others. One business initiative that is near and dear to her heart is an initiative that is focused on supporting young professionals in the Metro-Detroit area through networking and strategic development sessions. That initiative is the My Dream BIG Club.
Omo co-founded My Dream BIG Club with her equally impressive husband, Seun Phillips (Managing Director at PlanetM). The organization has a membership that includes professionals in the fields of medicine/dentistry, science and technology, education, athletics, business and law, among others, and is quickly becoming the hub for young professionals in the Metro Detroit area that understand the importance of growth that exists beyond one’s comfort zone, and are also interested in encouraging, uplifting and strengthening others in .
Omo is a firm believer that as a man thinketh, so he is and one can do anything that one trains their mind to do. This is due to her upbringing and diverse academic background having studied in Africa, Europe and North America. She’s always looking for ways to challenge and stretch her mind, with one of her current challenges being training for her first marathon in October and planning the first major conference for My Dream BIG Club. Fortunately, Omo sees the value in supporting others as she pursues her own development and personal goals. For these reasons and more, Omo is a changemaker and worthy of your vote for the SEEN Changemaker in Business for 2019.
