Please describe why the nominee is a SEEN Changemaker:

For years, Alexandra, or "Cowgirl Alex", has been working her (mane and tail off) as the Program Manager for Camp Casey, a local nonprofit that brings horses and respite into the lives of children with cancer, sickle cell disease and aplastic anemia. Working for a small nonprofit, Alex wears the hats of many but never seems to get stressed when it comes to connecting all the dots necessary to bring joy to a sick child in need.

Tell us about the individual’s accomplishments:

Alex has been recognized in countless local publications for being a part of an organization that serves over 1600 people a year through its 3 cost-free programs.

How is he/she impacting the community or the lives of people in Metro Detroit or across the world.

Alex works tirelessly to reach local families of children with cancer and rare blood disorders, dedicates much of her time advocating for volunteerism, and manages an enormous seasonal staff and volunteer pool. Alex lives her life with tremendous dignity and walks the walk when it comes to being a good person. I am proud to get to work with someone as intelligent, compassionate and kind as Cowgirl Alex.
