Please describe why the nominee is a SEEN Changemaker:

Cat is just one of those people who makes you want to be a better person, simply from being in her presence. She is hardworking, driven and is always consciously evolving into the best version of herself so that she can show up for those around her. Cat is an RN and is now a mentor for nurses through her company Nine Lives Health and Mind.

While working as a pediatric RN, she realized first-hand that while she and her fellow nurses were working so hard to take care of their patients and everyone around them, they didn't have anyone in the medical community to take care of them. After seeing how tired and burnt out she and her follow nurses were, she knew something had to change...and the change started with her.

Cat began Nurses Inspire Nurses, a movement around just that: nurses motivating and inspiring one another to take care of each other. In what started as "something nice" she would do for the nurses on her floor, it quickly spread to other shifts, other hospitals, other states and is now a movement that has swept the nation.

Tell us about the individual’s accomplishments:

You don't have to be in the nursing community or even work in a hospital to be inspired by the Nurses Inspire Nurses movement. To realize that we're all in this thing called life together, all as humans having our own unique experience but while being part of a collective is something that we can all identify with.

Cat has breathed new life into the nursing profession. From seasoned nursing professionals to newly graduated RNs, nurses all over the country look to Cat as a mentor, a leader, a role model and friend.

Cat's methodology of "Leap, Land, Live" was designed around the premise of stepping up, taking a risk on yourself, having the confidence that you'll land on your feet, and from that standpoint, living a life by one's own design, Cat has helped hundreds and hundreds of men and women regain control of their lives both professionally and personally.

How is he/she impacting the community or the lives of people in Metro Detroit or across the world.

While the Nurses Inspire Nurses movement has made it's way across the nation and to various parts of the world outside of North America, Cat continues to show up in major ways around Metro Detroit through offering personalized mentorship for nurses, holding space for nurses to share and heal by hosting coffee talks around the area, as well as being an active member in other nursing efforts around the community. Cat is doing big things for the nursing community and beyond and she is truly and sincerely so deserving of this award / recognition. It is an honor to know her and I am so proud of her.
