Jayson Waller is a true champion of industry and changemaker having successfully launched and sold two home security-related companies. His most recent endeavor was the creation of POWERHOME Solar, the leading American-made solar company that provides clean energy solutions and roofing services to customers. The company's mission is to help consumers gain energy independence by providing quality solar energy at affordable prices.

Tell us about the individual’s accomplishments:

Jayson launched POWERHOME Solar in 2015, in North Carolina, with just 15 employees. In four years, the company has expanded to eight states with more than 600 employees, over 11,000 customers and a co-headquarters in Troy, Mich. Under Jayson’s leadership, POWERHOME Solar has increased revenue by more than 3,670% in four years, crossing the $100 million threshold for the first time in 2018.

Jayson also oversees POWERHOME Solar’s partnerships with professional sports teams, including the Carolina Panthers, Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions, Indianapolis Colts and Pittsburgh Steelers, The partnerships help each entity reduce dependence on grid energy and thereby decrease often-large carbon footprints. These strategic partnerships also help raise consumer awareness about the features and benefits of solar energy, creating a ripple effect for potential customers throughout the company’s footprint.

Jayson is a finalist for the Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2019 Award in the Southeast. He was also named a 2019 Dbusiness Champion of the New Economy and POWERHOME Solar has been ranked #6 among residential rooftop installers in the U.S. in Solar Power World Top Solar Contractors list.

How is he/she impacting the community or the lives of people in Metro Detroit or across the world.

Through its solar panel installations, POWERHOME Solar saves customers a collective $1.2 million per month in electricity costs. The number of panels installed to date offsets CO2 emissions equivalent to removing 65,000 vehicles from roads annually for 30 years.
