Bakehouse46 is a collaboration between Cupcake Station and Blake’s Farm, serving up cupcakes, donuts, cider, candy apples and more! The spot, which opened earlier this year, features a variety of cupcake flavors, like Lemon Lust, vegan chocolate and vanilla, Chocolate Cheesecake and more, as well as donut flavors like Maple Bacon, Fruity Pebbles and Acai Bowl. Bakehouse46 is in the process of opening in all previous Cupcake Station locations.

With locations in Greektown and Royal Oak, Astoria has stood the test of time for nearly 50 years. Their menu features sweet treats like tortes, macarons, tiramisu, cheesecake and more, as well as savory baked goods like spinach pies and croissant sandwiches. Sister Pie opened its doors in 2015 after winning the Hatch Detroit contest and earning a grant to open a storefront. Since then, they’ve released a cookbook, begun teaching baking classes, partnered with Shake Shack for their “Pie Oh My” custard and, of course, sold pies! Since April Anderson opened her bakery in 2013, she has served treats to Oprah, worked as a pastry chef for the James Beard Media Awards in New York and served on a panel for CGI America alongside Bill Clinton. Back at the bakery, she serves up organic treats like lemon velvet cakes, toasted coconut cupcakes, orange ginger breakfast bread and peanut butter brownies.

Treat Dreams may be best known for their creative ice cream flavors that change weekly — like peach lime chipotle, Nuttin Better Than Bacon or lobster bisque (!) — but they also offer baked goods! They’ve partnered with D’Vine Cookies to serve edible cookie dough, as well as ice cream sandwiches — also available as a giant, 5-pound sandwich, if you can’t get enough.

Milano has been a staple in the Eastern Market district since it opened in 1975, and for good reason. The bakery’s wide variety of treats includes chocolate French silk pie, Oreo cheesecake and lemon poppy muffins. You can also order a custom “build your own cake” with a range of cake flavors, frostings and fillings.

Detroit Cookie Co. grew out of Lauren Roumayah’s lifelong passion for baking combined with her love of flavors from the Motor City. Her “Big 3” cookies combine Better Made potato chips, Michigan cherries and chocolate chips, while the “Mad Mix” mashes together Better Made’s Sweet BBQ chips and Butterfinger bits. The shop also offers brownies, blondies, cereal treats and cinnamon rolls.

By the time you’ve finished enjoying Renea Smith’s baked goods, crumbs will be all that’s left! Though the bakery specializes in expertly decorated cakes with flavors like pink champagne, strawberry lemonade and Grand Marnier carrot cake, Cake Crumbs also serves up a variety of other treats. Stop in to try their Strawberry White chocolate chip cookies, Slammin’ Citrus bars, mini cheesecakes and creme brulee.

With a menu that changes with the seasons, Love and Buttercream delivers new flavors every few months. Some of their specialty cake flavors include almond, blueberry and lemon poppyseed. Metro Detroit’s family-owned French patisserie opened its doors in May 2018 to showcase made-from-scratch treats with an American flair. Expect macarons, petits-gateaux and even an afternoon tea service.

Dilla’s pushes the boundaries of what makes a donut, featuring unusual flavors like vegan tomato basil & Vernor’s glaze, orange habanero and sweet potato.
